Rich Artistic Connotation & Historical Background
The Story of Pipa
In the Tang Dynasty, a young girl named Yang Guifei was born into a noble family.
She was known for her beauty and grace, and soon became the favorite of Emperor Xuanzong. One day, while playing the pipa, she caught his attention and he fell in love with her. He asked her to marry him, but she refused because she loved another man named Li Yuxi. The emperor was heartbroken and ordered Yang Guifei to be executed. Her death marked the end of the Tang Dynasty and the beginning of the Song Dynasty.
